Fossett's Plane Wreckage Confirmed

I saw a glimmer of hope when a plane wreckage was found in California today. Though it has been confirmed that it's Steve Fossett's plane, Police say that "no man can walk out of this one"... a small tear came out of my eyes and I just wished I could have continued this blog... think of it... the news could have been different!

It's amazing, a man who lived for so many years and I didn't care about him apart from reading the headlines he made for all his stunts. And now, that he is dead... I thank him every time I see myself growing in the blogosphere... inspired by a missing man, exactly a year ago!

I've decided to keep all my blogs, free of ads, for two days in his respect.

You can read the full story...

Police in the United States have confirmed the wreckage of a light plane found in a remote area of eastern California belonged to the millionaire adventurer Steve Fossett, who disappeared while piloting the aircraft a year ago.

The search resumed yesterday after a hiker found items belonging to Mr Fossett.

The county sheriff, John Anderson, says the crash was so severe that no-one could have walked away from it.

Most of the fuselage had disintegrated, with engine parts scattered for several hundred metres.

He says there was no body in the plane, but rescue crews were searching the crash site for human remains.

"They found enough wreckage to salvage that it was an aircraft," he said.

"They found a plate with the N number identifying it as the plane that belonged to Fossett."

The plane wreckage was located about 3,200 metres up the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the vicinity of Mammoth Lakes, California.

Steve Fossett Declared Dead... So Is This Blog

My life has revolved around that of Sir Steve since the time he went missing.

This blog was born the same day Sir Steve Fossett was last seen... and will die now that he's been declared dead..

"Steve Fossett, has been declared legally dead by a Chicago court.

Five months ago, he and the aeroplane he was flying went missing over Nevada.

His wife, Peggy Fossett, had asked a court in Illinois to make the declaration last November."

It's been a short journey. Earlier, I've always thought I would get a nice spike of traffic when this rich guy will be found in the desert.. I was just concerned about my blog... little did I thought, he just might not be found after a long time... and he be declared dead was the last thing I had ever thought about..

I don't know who to blame... all those times when I wrote this blog and made a little money out of it, money was the only thing in my mind.

I went on to make more blogs after the success of this one and made more than $2000 online and grabbed a lucrative job to work on a Bollywood blog, while only studying!

For anyone who doesn't know... with this free blog, I told more than 33k people, what might have gone wrong with the great adventurer who had almost become a part of my life for the past 5 months.

It's funny, someone was such a stranger to me when he was between us and is now so close to me... when he's DECLARED dead... might not be dead..

I've pledged to keep fast today in the honor of the great man.

Moreover, I really don't have any sympathy for his wife... and you know why..
poor old man... God Bless!

Steve Fossett's Wife Wants Him Declared Dead!

Steve fossett's wife Peggy Fosset has asked a court to declare him legally dead.Peggy Fossett made the request so she can resolve the legal status of his estate, which according to official papers is "vast" and could be worth tens of millions of dollars.

Mr Fossett, a 63-year-old millionaire, disappeared while flying his single engine plane over rugged Nevada terrain in September.

"As anyone can imagine, this is a difficult day for our family," she said in a written statement. "We will continue to grieve and heal, but after nearly three months, we feel now that we must accept that Steve did not survive."

Radar data revives hunt for Fossett

Teams on the ground and in aircraft kept hunting for millionaire aviator Steve Fossett on Sunday after a new analysis of radar data provided fresh optimism.

Radar and satellite images from Sept. 3, the day Fossett, 63, disappeared in a small plane, led Air Force technicians to believe they had spotted clues to his route. The formal aerial search by the Civil Air Patrol and the Nevada National Guard had ended Sept. 19. Nothing was found by Sunday afternoon, however.
